Gwen is based in Cumbria and began her Virtual Assistant business, Curlew Secretarial Solutions, in February 2014.
Gwen has over Sixteen years of experience in the secretarial and PA sector. Five of those years were spent working as an Audio Typist and Receptionist at a busy inner city doctor’s surgery, so she is familiar with medical administration, and the confidentiality issues that go hand-in-hand with that position.
She spent many years working as Personal Assistant at an Occupational Health Company, once again dealing with all aspects of a busy office as well as running the Managing Directors diary and planning events, seminars and conferences. She also volunteers as a secretary for Alston Moor Food Bank and her local Scout Troop.
Gwen also has a background in Environmental Science and provides a Virtual Assistant service to university lecturers, renewable energy companies, students and other businesses in that field.
Curlew Secretarial Solutions has grown rapidly and works with a wide range of clients from sole traders to large companies. All services are tailored specifically to each client, as all have very different ways of working and different requirements.
In November 2015, Gwen won Best Newcomer VA 2015 and in June 2016 she won VA of the Year for North West England.
